Silver Words is a spoken word open-mic event, which means you can perform anything that you can speak, rap, yell, whisper or declaim, as long as it’s spoken. If you’ve ever wanted to perform your writing in front of a supportive and engaged audience or hear new writers perform, come along.
"Hatred or contempt on the basis of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, age or mental or physical disability will not be tolerated."
We use trigger warnings at our events for sensitive trauma topics, to give listeners a heads up to quietly pop in headphones, or leave the room for a break.
Silver words is an inclusive, supportive and safe space. Let's keep it that way.
Zine's can be purchased online for a small sum of $5.50 AUD. The money will be split between the contributing poets equally.
If the print version of the zine was created to raise money for a charity or cause, for the digital sales of these special editions 50% of the money will go to the charity/cause and 50% to the poets contributing to the issue.
